Eklego is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Administrator/RN Manager to work full time with a well-established and respected organization in Elizabethtown, PA. 

In this full-time leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical and administrative operations of a 135 room Personal Care unit with a newly renovated single dining room. This position works closely with providers, staff, residents and their families. The Personal Care Administrator/RN Manager also works collaboratively with other departments such as Social Work, Activities, and Spiritual Care to create a positive and supportive environment for the residents.

The Personal Care Administrator/RN Manager will ensure the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continuing education that encompasses all of these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Responsible for day to day supervision of employees in the Personal Care area. Assigns and schedules employees and their work. Coaches and counsels' employees, and acts as a liaison between departments.

Knowledge/Experience Requirements: 

  1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Registered Nurse) with Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Master's degree a plus.  
  2. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing required.
  3. Certification as a Personal Care administrator.  
  4. Five years recent experience in a personal care environment, including a minimum of two years as a Personal Care administrator.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  6. CPR certification required prior to or upon hire.

Essential Functions/Professional Competencies: 

  1. Contributes to the comprehensive planning process of the department and obtains achievable objectives connected to appropriate goals and guided by the mission and goals of the organization.
  2. Point of contact for families to ensure we are providing highest quality person-centered care.
  3. Collaborates with the department director for budget development.  Accountable for financial and operational performance of the Personal Care organization.
  4. Upholds expectations of performance development plan for all staff, including disciplinary actions as required.
  5. Accountable for assuring an appropriate staffing schedule to meet resident care needs consistent with adequate staffing and regulatory guidelines.  Monitors payroll and overtime, keeping within budget
  6. Assures appropriate amount of time in the resident care area to demonstrate support of employees and all other customers, to assure problem solving and identify future opportunities for improvement. 
  7. Serves as a resource for staff concerning resident care concerns and equipment needs for personal care.  Keeps staff educated on geriatric practice updates through in-services and seminars.  
  8. Provides appreciation and recognition to employees.  Seek opportunities to observe staff doing their jobs well. 
  9. Delegates to nursing personnel the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties.
  10. Conducts routine staff meetings with Personal Care employees.
  11. Collaborates with the department director, other managers, and Human Resources personnel regarding nursing staff recruitment, interviews and selection of employees. Assists with the interview process of internal candidates for open positions.  Supports the mentoring program for new employees.
  12. Supports the Risk Management Department including reviewing and investigating employee incident and accident reports.  
  13. Assures timely completion of Performance Appraisal Conferences (PAC) for all nursing staff. Provides corrective action per the Masonic Village Personnel Policy Handbook and recommends termination of employment of nursing personnel in concert with Human Resources.  
  14. Assists in developing, updating and standardizing procedures pertinent to personal care.
  15. Supports the quality improvement initiative.  Assures and/or conducts monitoring of documentation in geriatric resident care practices to assure compliance with acceptable standards and with regulatory bodies (DHS). 
  16. Establishes and maintains collaborative communication and coordination with other healthcare professionals and families to coordinate resident care needs and transitions of care.  Assesses residents to ensure placement at the appropriate level of care. 
  17. Takes the lead role in the DHS survey process to assure compliance with all regulations and other relevant, regulatory and/or accrediting bodies.  Develops plans of correction as necessary. 
  18. Reviews concerns, complaints and grievances filed by employees, residents or families/responsible parties.  Takes necessary steps to resolve same.
  19. Serves as the personal care administrator.
